About Āti Awa Toa Hauora Partnership Board
Āti Awa Toa Hauora Partnership Board (ĀATHPB) is one of 15 recognised Iwi Māori Partnership Boards established under the Pae Ora Act 2022 to represent local Māori perspectives in improving hauora outcomes. We aim to move away from siloed health systems, amplify whānau voices, address the broader determinants that impact the health of our community and support intergenerational wellbeing.
Our statutory role includes three broad functions:
- Whānau Voice – collection, protection, analysis, and amplification of whānau voice;
- Monitoring sector performance at a local level;
- Planning, designing and priority setting for local investment and innovation in the health sector.
We are also part of Te Ikaroa (central) region collective of five IMPBs:
- Tihei Tākitimu (Tākitimu Hawkes Bay)
- Te Mātuku (Whanganui)
- Te Pae Oranga o Ruahine o Tararua (Manawatū)
- Te Karu o te Ika Poari Hauora (Wairarapa)
- Āti Awa Toa (Greater Wellington/Hutt)
